Although we are available to support investors in any sector of activity, we believe that Lisbon reveals attractive conditions for investments in the following sectors:

Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) – A growing number of Portuguese companies of high technology are, through their new skills, developing markedly successful international business, settled within the development of innovative software solutions for complex problems. Also, many foreign companies are being established in the Lisbon region having in view the vantage of the skills of human resources and other favourable conditions towards the development of their businesses.

Renewable Energies – Portugal is in the top 5 countries of the EU concerning the production of energy through renewable sources.

Tourism – Sector that already represents more than 11% of the national GDP; one of its greatest regions can be found in Lisbon, the presence of the major international brands indicates that the cities’ potential in this sector is known worldwide. Lisbon has known how to grow without loosing its own genuineness, becoming therefore more and more attractive.

Universities and research centres – Lisbon is the largest university pole in the country and the region that concentrates the majority of the institutions dedicated to Research and Development.

Marine Economics - The Lisbon Trade Association / the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce and Industry promoted the Economy of the Sea Hyper-cluster study (Portuguese only), that was coordinated by the Professor Ernâni Lopes, and also counted on the support of a group of companies of reference. This study had as its objective to identify the strategic potential of marine economics for the development of the economy of the companies.

Cinema and Audiovisuals
Lisbon presents exceptional conditions for the production of Audiovisuals. Not only does the sun shine frequently (an annual average of 2.831 hours) but also presents a low number of rainy days (average of 100 days per year). Additionally, Lisbon offers various scenarios that vary from the XVIII century city (The Pombaline Downtown) to the modern and cosmopolitan city (expo zone). It also displays, in a radius of a few kilometres, the luxuriant nature of Sintra and a stretch of coast and beach.

Urban Recovery – the urban recovery is one of the city’s biggest wagers.

Health - The Health Cluster is one of the most important sectors in Portugal. It is represented by the Heatlh Cluster Portugal that has an significant number of companies located in Lisbon. Its main objective the promotion and implementation of initiatives and activities leading to the creation of a national cluster for competitiveness, innovation and technology, with an international outlook and, as such, taking into account high standards of quality and professionalism, to promote and foster cooperation between companies, organizations, universities and public entities, with a view to increase business volume, exports and qualified employment, in the economic areas related to health and to the improvement of health care. Provision of services for companies (back office, call centres, etc.) – Lisbon presents some of the lowest costs in Europe with regard to office rental and sale. On the other hand the Portuguese human resources are multilingual and traditionally present a great capacity towards adapting to different situations.
